On Thursday Uber settled two lawsuits totalling $28.5 million. To any mere mortal business this would be a bad day, but on Friday Mikhail Fridman controlled investment company LetterOne invested $200 million.

Uber is  currently fitting out new corporate offices (when I say offices, what I mean is an entire building) that will hold up to 2,500 employees.

Meanwhile Uber CEO Travis Kalanick was TED talking his way into the hearts and minds of doubters this morning, explaining how Uber is making the world a better place by enabling people to travel without using their own car, meaning less cars on the road, meaning less carbon, meaning that Uber is saving the world.
